Welcome to the U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Colorado web
site. This site makes available to you information about NRCS
programs, services, activities, and employees. It is continually
updated, so visit often. We want to ensure that we provide you with
the most current information available.
When the 2002 Farm Bill was passed, it
encompassed the largest commitment to agriculture and the protection
and conservation of our natural resources and environment in U.S.
history. Because of that monumental decision, USDA and NRCS are in
the midst of implementing the most ambitious conservation provisions
of a Farm Bill ever. We are excited about the opportunities that
this Farm Bill presents, and most importantly, about the
opportunities to meet and exceed our customer’s demands and
expectations.
We know that private lands agriculture provides
many of the environmental assets that our citizens, both urban and
rural, depend upon, including clean air, enhanced water quality and
quantity, healthy soil, and habitat for our wildlife. We are
pleased to be a part of providing both the financial and technical
assistance many landowners need to fulfill their land steward goals
as well as continuing to produce the food, fiber, and environmental
commodities we all need and enjoy.
We welcome you to not only take the time to see
what is available on this site, but to also use this opportunity to
let us know how we can serve you better. You can e-mail us at
cyndee.hjelmstad@co.usda.gov or you can reach us at any of the
USDA
service centers throughout the state. They provide support to every
county in Colorado.
We look forward to continuing to provide you
the best customer service possible, as we progress in our quest to
conserve Colorado’s precious natural resources.
Sincerely,
Allen Green
