About the Arikaree Watershed

The Arikaree Watershed is located in Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Washington, and Yuma counties. A small portion of the watershed also crosses into the state of Kansas. The watershed includes approximately 540 farms on 918,678 acres of land. In Colorado, the watershed is in an area which yields dry beans, grains, and pumpkins; as well as a large percentage of Colorado's animal feeding operations including hogs, poultry, sheep, and lamb, horses and goats.
