General Program Information

The Conservation Security Program (CSP) is a voluntary stewardship program that provides financial and technical assistance to promote the conservation and improvement of soil, water, air, energy, plant and animal life, and other conservation purposes on Tribal and private working lands. Through CSP, producers who have property located in Colorado's CSP priority watershed may be eligible to apply for 2006 funding and enrollment. Eligibility criteria is designed to address specific conservation goals in the watershed. Once it has been determined that producers meet Colorado's minimum eligibility criteria, they will be directed to complete the state's 2006 Conservation Record Workbook, the National on-line CSP Self-Assessment Workbook, submit an application, and schedule a follow-up interview with NRCS who will determine which program tier and enrollment category are available for the applicant. More information about the Conservation Security Program can be found on the National NRCS website.
