The Upper Arkansas-John Martin Reservoir Watershed covers
approximately 2,456,473 surface acres in portions of Baca, Bent, Cheyenne,
Crowley, Kiowa, Las Animas, Lincoln, and Prowers counties. A
very small portion of the watershed crosses into southwestern
Kansas
in Greeley and Hamilton counties. The watershed includes 846 farms on 1,925,255 acres.
