About the Mcelmo Watershed

The Mcelmo Watershed is located in Southeastern Colorado in Montezuma county. A portion of the watershed crosses into the state of Utah. The watershed includes approximately 270 farms on 256,833 acres.  In Colorado, the watershed is in an area which produces a variety of crops including dry beans, oats, corn, wheat, and hay. The area also hosts animal feeding operations including cattle, hogs, and poultry farms.
