Colorado Invasive Plant Program

Tackling Tamarisk on the Purgatoire Project Area

The project area will include the Purgatoire River and its tributaries from Trinidad State Park reservoir downstream to Highway 350. The species of concern to be addressed in this project area are tamarisk and Russian olive. Landowners, or groups of landowners, with property in this project area can apply for up to 50 percent cost-share assistance to suppress and control the spread of these targeted noxious weeds. How to apply

  • Review the Eligible EQIP Conservation Practices and Cost Rates for the Colorado Invasive Plant Program.
  • Review the Ranking Criteria and Screen Tool (below).
  • Complete and print the USDA Fillable Conservation Program Application Form CCC1200 (below).
  • Visit or call the USDA Service Center in your area to contact an NRCS staff person to assist you through the application process.
