NRCS Colorado Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP)
- 2007

2008 Invasive Plant Species Call for
Proposals. During fiscal year 2008, the Natural
Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Colorado will utilize a
Call for
Proposal (CFP) process to offer up to one million dollars of Environmental
Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) funding targeted for the control of invasive
plant species. The program will be offered in limited geographical areas for
watershed scale projects that will significantly reduce the abundance and
impacts of newly emerging noxious weed species and improve the surrounding plant
communities. Proposals will accepted through November 2,
2007 at the Colorado NRCS State Office (electronic proposals would be preferred).
The
Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) was reauthorized
in the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (Farm Bill) to
provide a voluntary conservation program for farmers and ranchers that
promotes agricultural production and environmental quality as compatible
national goals. EQIP offers financial and technical help to assist
eligible participants install or implement structural and management
practices on eligible agricultural land. Additional information about
this environmental improvement program can be found on the
NRCS National Website.
Or contact NRCS at your local
USDA Service Center.
