Colorado 2008 Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP)
Invasive Plant Program
Program Education Campaign
In an ongoing effort to eradicate and
control noxious weeds, or invasive plant species, in Colorado, the
Looks Can Kill education campaign was developed this year. It is
designed to provide our employees and the public specific information about
invasive plant species which have been targeted for suppression and control
using Environmental Quality Incentives Program state funds.
General Program Information
The EQIP Colorado Invasive Plant Program is a voluntary program for
landowners who want to improve the productivity of rangeland and riparian lands
for agriculture and wildlife by reducing the impact of noxious weeds. Ten project areas throughout
Colorado, all of which have an existing and ongoing invasive plant species or
weed management initiative, were approved for funding assistance to suppress and
control the spread of targeted noxious weeds and improve the quality of
desirable plant communities.
