Colorado Invasive Plant Program

Apishapa River Project Area

The project area includes Otero, Pueblo and Las Animas counties along the Apishapa River.  The primary species of concern to be addressed is Tamarisk along with Russian-Olive.  Landowners, or groups of landowners, with property in this project area can apply for up to 50 percent cost-share assistance to suppress and control the spread of these targeted noxious weeds.  For additional information and detailed boundary data about this project area, e-mail NRCS District Conservationist Richard Rhoades or call him at the Pueblo NRCS Field Office at 719.543.8386 or e-mail NRCS District Conservationist David Miller or call him at the Rocky Ford NRCS Field Office at 719.254.7672.

  • Review the Eligible Practice and Payment Rates for the Invasive Plant Species Program.
  • Review the Ranking Criteria and Screen Tools (below).
  • Complete and print the USDA Conservation Program Application Form CCC1200 (below)
  • Visit or call the USDA Service Center in your area to contact an NRCS staff person to assist you through the application process.
