Colorado Invasive Plant Program

Platte Valley Conservation District Project Area

The project area is located along the South Platte River in Weld County.  The species of concern to be addressed are Purple Loosestrife, Diffuse Knapweed, Hoary Cress, Salt Cedar, Yellow Toadflax, Dalmation Toadflax, Leafy Spurge, Perennial Pepperweed, and Scotch Thistle.  Landowners, or groups of landowners, with property in this project area can apply for up to 50 percent cost-share assistance to suppress and control the spread of these targeted noxious weeds.  For additional information and detailed boundary data about this project area, e-mail NRCS District Conservationist Jan Fritch or call him at the Brighton NRCS Field Office at 303.659.0525.

How to apply

  • Review the Eligible Practice and Payment Rates for the Invasive Plant Species Program.
  • Review the Ranking Criteria and Screen Tools (below).
  • Complete and print the USDA Conservation Program Application Form CCC1200 (below)
  • Visit or call the USDA Service Center in your area to contact an NRCS staff person to assist you through the application process.
