NRCS Colorado Grassland Reserve Program/GRP
Overview
The Grassland Reserve Program/GRP helps
landowners and operators voluntarily restore and protect grassland, including rangeland
and pastureland, and certain other lands, while maintaining the areas as
grazing lands. Section 2401 of the
2002 Farm Bill (Security and Rural
Investment Act of 2002 -Pub. L. 107-171) authorizes the Grassland Reserve
Program/GRP. The GRP assists participants to keep grasslands from
conversion to cropland or other uses. Go to the
NRCS National website
for additional information about this program
The Natural Resources Conservation Service/NRCS, Farm Service Agency/FSA
and Forest Service/FS are coordinating the implementation of the GRP, which
helps landowners restore and protect grassland, rangeland, pastureland,
shrubland and certain other lands, and provides assistance for
rehabilitating grasslands.
