Rangeland

Rangeland can be defined as an expanse of land predominantly comprised of grasses, grass-like plants, forbs, and/or shrubs. These lands are suitable for livestock and wildlife to wander and graze on. The State Range Conservationist provides guidance and direction in the management of Colorado's private, state, and tribal rangeland resources, and offers support to other Federal, State, local agencies, and units of government in interpreting and providing coordinated alternatives to the management of these rangeland resources.
